Baby blackbird
« on: May 19, 2012, 22:42:34 »
Yesterday I managed to spot my [elderly] cat just about to pounce under the hedge, to find a fledgeling blackbird on the ground.  My cat is thankfully not a great hunter, and must have thought it was her lucky day!!
Thankfully today I saw Daddy blackbird regularly feeding it  :D .  Mummy blackbird was with the other baby in the nest about eye level.  Any way my cat is now locked indoors for at least a week...  :P
N. Herts, just acquired first allotment in Aug 2014.

Well done for noticing your cat and the chick. I love this time of year with all the babies.....and like you I have cats, I have to do 'lock down' too. Much to feline disgust ;)
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.
