Latest Progress piccies on my plot!
« on: February 20, 2005, 20:29:01 »
I spent another few hours today digging the plot I have taken over from my father-in-law. It has been hard work so far, but with the encouragement of this forum, and by tackling it a bit at a time, I have finally reached the point I'd hoped to this year. Everything else I dig through the year will be a bonus now ;D I have taken the liberty of posting a couple of pics.
First piccy is a view down the allotment showing the area that has been dug so far, about 30m x 10 m split into three large beds and 5 x 4' wide beds. The other piccy is of the row of raspberry canes and couple of gooseberry bushes I put in this weekend. They are down at the "rough" end of the plot near to my shed, in a sheltered sunny spot which I am turning into my fruit/compost area.

My wife is expecting a baby in 2 weeks so sowing and hoeing will have to wait until after the big day!!  8)

Don't you just love the looks of a freshly dug lottie?
Hat off you you and a deep bow.
I can't wait to compare these pictures with the ones you'll be taking in say August. Don't lose these please so you can post the similar views from different times together, that'll be very interesting to see.

All the best with the arrival of your baby, before you know it you'll be able to use your own home grown veggies to make baby food.

Thanks Ina,

I am keeping a pictorial record to spur me on etc, so it will be interesting to look after a few more months!

Our 2 year old thinks its great that we are growing her carrots & raspberries...her favourites! I will have to make a little play area for her this summer, maybe a sandpit or something!
