Hi Kea. you are right there ,I had a lovely little cat called Dixie. when I called her in at night I shortened her name to Dix , my sister lived next door but one to me, and one day she said I wish you would call the cat by her full name when you call her in at night, not stand by the back door and call the cat by her shortened name, I will leave you to work it out .Hope I have not offended anyone with my post , if I have, I am sorry Lol June.

Fanny. My flatmate used to delight in standing on the back step hollering "Where's my fanny???"...Ah memories...She was a lovely cat though and ended up on a small farm when we all left the house. I dunno if they kept the name! Reminds me of the time we had a tarantula, that too was called Fanny. My 6 year son took it to school in its glass cage for the 'show and tell' at assembly. When the teacher asked why it was called Fanny he answered 'because my dad says because it is big, black and hairy' ;D. We were told about this from one of the dinner ladies who said there was a stunned silence around the hall and OK now on to Arthurs ferret, whats his name 'Dick', Toms at home and Harry died. Thank god for that said the teacher. Arthur was not amused.
