We are having two more feral cats
« on: April 03, 2012, 20:34:33 »
We are going to have two new feral cats next week.  They were rescued from a bad situation locally and have been cared for by a fosterer from Cats Protection for a few months.

They are going to take up residence on Shirl's plot but will have to be kept confined to a large pen inside her shed for about a month.

They are both ginger toms and both neutered.  One is very shy but the other one is much braver.

Their fosterer sent me these photos of them

This is Freddie

and this is George

I think Shirl will be along soon to tell you more about them.

Went to see them yesterday evening. They are so beautiful.Must correct you Betty its Tones Chalet that they will be residing in. ;D Tony is going to fit a cat flap so that they can have shelter if they need it. Have to give him some of the credit. ::)
They look like twins. I am sure that in time and with lots of TLC they will become part of the family at Walsall Rd.

Oh Freddie looks beautiful! What an unusual coat. Our putty tat had a ginger mummy so her tabby coat is flecked through with lovely burnt orange patches and she has a big ginger patch on one of her paws.
I am sure they will love it on your plot! Let's hope that they are mellow and friendly.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

Don't they dig up seeds and other freshly planted stuff, as they like to poo in freshly dug earth?

dtw. They may well do so but along with that they also catch the mice and rats which I am sure we could prove to be more of a problem.
On our plots most of the stuff is netted anyway to  protect it from all of the other pests.
About the only seedlings that are not covered are the parsnips beetroot and a piece of wire netting laid on it is all it takes.
We also have foxes that have made their home on the allotments and apart from a few spuds being dug up and a few eggs buried they don't cause any problems.

Our new ferals arrived yesterday.  They have to stay in the cage inside ower Tone's shed for a month so they get used to their surroundings.

Beautiful cats, they are very lucky.

Cats at Walsall Rd are looked after better than most pets.

All the best.

Martin.

They were hiding underneath their bed this morning and when I couldn't see them I called Betty to come and look but Tony saw them so all was ok.
