Arum lily
« on: March 29, 2012, 13:45:40 »
I've had these plants for many years. They used to reward me with beautiful flowers. Somehow they have stopped  flowering, and I have no idea what is wrong with them. Can anyone give me a clue as to what I need to do to make it flower again like it used to.

Do you think they might have taken a hammering from the cold in the winter of 2010/11 then the very long dry spell we have had?

I would feed them up with tomato food and hope they recover.  Maybe let them die down in the Autumn and dig them up, speparate them out and replant in the spring.

Dsclaimer: I know nothing but if they have been in the same place for a long time, maybe they need a fresh start somewhere else.

Did they die back into theirselves or rot off with the cold.

To Ace's question : Yes they do tend to be dormant in winter and then when the weather improves, it spring back up again. But for some reason they just refused to flower.

Thanks to Ellen K's comment as well. Much appreciated .
