Giant Veg Seeds needing a home
« on: February 13, 2012, 14:04:59 »
Joined the EGVGA a while back and have just received my annual seed promo.
I have lots of Giant Vegetable seeds that will never seed dirt so I am offering them up for anyone that will give them a go.

There's only a few seed of each variety, here's whats on offer.  I'm sure a few on this site may want the tomato seed for the competition

1.  Tall Corn (Wursten,11 seeds)
2.  Tomato (4.52 Ruegger 2011, 2 seeds)    (weight, grower, year)
3.  Tomato (5.32 Lyons 2011, 3 seeds)
4.  Tomato (3.96 Osmala 2011,  2 seeds)
5.  Swede 'Cornish Giant' Grew 75.2lb
6.  Field Pumpkin (99 Lyons 2011, 1 seed)
7.  Sweet Pepper (Wursten 2011, 2 seeds)
8.  Kohlrabi (Grew World Record, 3 seeds)
9.  Radish (4 seeds)
10. Leek 'Mammoth Pot' (3 seeds)
11. Beetroot (Wursten, 5 clusters)
12. Heavy Cucumber (Wursten, 2 seeds)
13. Heavy Carrot (a good pinch)
14. Long Gourd (122 Wursten 2011, 1 seed - European Record)
15. Marrow (70.5 Wursten 2011, 1 seed)
16. Giant Yellow Marrow (77lbs, , 2 seeds)
17. Giant Yellow Marrow (1 seed)

Might have a few Giant Pumpkin seeds too if anyone is particularly interested.

Nothing needed in exchange but if you do have some Black Futsu or Bon Bon F1 squash seeds or crystal lemon cucumber seeds needing a home I'd be most greatful.

Dandy...do you know from 'members' pages of EGVGA site if those toms are grown on their own roots or were they grafted?

I'll put a post in the forum to ask although the forum there is not frequented by its members like it is here so who knows when I will get a response.  I can but try though

Your welcome Steve.

Once you start looking you will find a wealth of information.  Its worthwhile going to bigpumpkins.com as there is a new growers forum there and people are equally as helpful and they are here at A4A.
