The cat's out the bag. For as long as I can remember I defered my birthday until 6 months later, for when the weather is better. (Well the queen can get away with it.) Trouble is I put the proper date on facebook and as I am now officially an old age perisher I thought I had better have it on the real date.

Mrs Ace ain't amused, she did not know the proper date, and the kids think I'm bonkers, they all wondered why I had booked a pub for the evening this friday for a bit of a do. Should be a good night as I have bunged my first months pension over the bar.

I ain't retiring yet though, I still have people throwing money at me to revamp their gardens and I believe old Newton got it wrong when he said the time spent fishing is not deducted from the sum total of your life. I am sure he meant gardening.

What a night, a room full of musicians and singers we raised the roof a bit.. I had a play on a friends new concertina, they are made specially to order. Mrs Ace could see I was smitten with the instrument and said I should order one of my own and she would buy it as my burfday present. Ordered it this morning before she realises how much it is going to cost her ;D She won't see much change out of 2 grand. But I reckon I'm worth it ;)
