You have nothing to loose PM, you will only be throwing the cut bits on the compost. Give it a go, you never know, in this weird weather you may just strike lucky!

the most important thing will be to be very careful with the water. I like to have about half inch of grit sand on top of the compost to avoid rotting at soil level.
