Topic: overwintering French tarragon

I have some very healthy French tarragon in my herb garden which I'd like to keep till next year. What's the best way to overwinter? Mulch and fleece, lift and pot up for indoors till spring, take cuttings? After the last two winters I'm a bit worried about just leaving it where it is!!

Lift up and pot it..keep it over winter in frost free place and almost dry..
Plants look like dead sticks but once winter is almost over..give little mulch with multipurpose and start watering..gently increasing the moisture level week by week..eventually new growth should appear from bellow the soil level and then tidy away any dead old growth... ;)
I've tried million times over wintering outdoors with protection and in cold GH..but they are not hardy enough.
Last two years method above has been success..took some finding out how to do it.. ::)

I would say sooner the better..then they still have enough time to recover from any damage and disturbance for the roots.
If they have lot of tops..it maybe good idea to reduce the height too.
