The Delicious and Grandfather Ashlock are flowering and doing well. Everything's hale and hearty as far as I can see so far...
Are you folks really going to the extreme of leaving only one fruit on a plant?
I can see I'm going to have to put my serious trousers on.

Not my idea Goodie,a wonderful one from Sunloving.

I do have a kiln as most of you know and it may be used if Sunloving wins.

We will see what we will see.

Jeannine i think your kiln could stay safely cold! (how wonderful to have one at home- except for the electricity bill!) especially as you've already got fruit on! Mine are just putting out side shoots and not much else at the moment. However its early days  :)

I'll throw it tonight.

Sunloving I have had a kiln since forever really, I ran a teaching studio in Canada for many years and it became something I always had to have even after I decided to give that up.

The one I have now is a baby one, it will go to cone 6 so I can still fire porcelain greenware i it but I wanted it mainly for china painting. U still have projects that I have had in boxes fro 15 years and am determioned to one day finish them..cough cough..well hoping to. I bought it last year and so far have not used it. When I left Canada ceramics and pottery was a very big hobby but ut seems it has gone now so the suppliers are no longer loacal for most things. I have been promising myself a trip to Seattle to pick up porcelain slip as I want to make some dollshouse folks. One of these days.

You are a multi talented lady. I'm a beginner and whilst my throwing is okay i have many glazing disasters and so lots to learn. Thats strange about clay supplies. Hope you can hunt down an on line supplier and fire up the kiln one of these days.

Not as talented as you sweetie. I had to hand build a couple of pots and throw one on wheel to get my teachers certification many years ago but I was useless at both and never did it again. I scraped through that bit om certification..just.

I prefer to use molds and liquid slip. Of course all of my molds are long gone apart from some repro antique doll heads and my dollshouse people.

I have some  dolls that I spent a great many hours carving details into the dry porcelain greenware before firing that are still not china painted and I want to finish them as I have all the antique silks and antique laces to dress them. Sadly once dolls became popular thousands of cheap ones turned up in shops and mail order and the very differnt artist ones that can cost a great deal of money were lumped in with them. It used to make me laugh. I spent more on a pair of hand blown glass eyes than folks spent on three dolls, but I guess that is the wau things go.

However I must finish the dozen or so I have half done.

My Polish Giant plants are living up to their name, covered in flowers but no fruit set yet, and aren't even in their final pots yet!
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Ninny, you need to trip the flowers to get good pollination in the greenhouse. The flower is self pollinating but gently  shaking the plants, using a fan or buzzing them with an electric toothbrush shakes the pollen down to where it needs to be, if outside the natural movemenet of the wind would do it.

Go tickle them!!
