What to do with glut of conference pears

loads of conference pears this year,any ideas on how to use them up ?

We simply freeze our apple and pear surplus.  Peel and quarter the fruit, remove cores.  Place in a pyrex bowl with a little sugar and heat in the microwave until just soft (don't cook them to a slop!)

Allow to cool, then put into suitable freezer bags or trays and freeze.

We use them on cereal, or with a little cream for pudding, or in various recipes.
