Buy a half-decent air pump and make your compost tea concentrate, aerobically instead of an-aerobically as suggested.

I am a newly-converted but firm believer in compost tea. It does the things that should be done...
That's mine, by the way? ;)

I tried that thing that Alys Fowler suggested: fermenting your weeds in a barrel of water then chucking the liquid in the compost bin as an accelerator.

Ye Gods!  Never again, I was heaving.

Henceforth I am letting nature take its course in the compost bins and using Miracle Gro for rocket fuel.

DEFINITIVE LEGAL ANSWER!!!!!

Its legal to take washed up seaweed off the beach. Its a problem of access. Technically, going on the foreshore is trespass, but you cant bathe in the sea (which you have a right to do) without crossing the foreshore, so its whats called a 'tolerance', ie something thats occurred since 'time immemorial' (defined as 1189 AD).

So you can WALK onto the foreshore and CARRY off as much WASHED UP LOOSE seaweed as you like.  But if you want to take a car and trailer onto the beach and load it directly, you need permission from whatever Parish, District or County Council has jurisdiction. Some will not give it, some might make you buy a licence (and i bet none let you do it free).

Nothing is ever as it seems. With appropriate equations I can prove this.

Slight warning though, if you have foxes on your site they LOVE seaweed and will happily dig it up and drag it all over the place......as I found out! ;D
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
