Plant ID please
« on: August 22, 2011, 10:51:52 »
Can anyone please tell me if this plant is friend or foe?  As there seems to be quite a few popped up in the front garden I would assume that they are weeds, but on the other hand....

I have seen these before, but for the life of me I cant remember what they are. Someone will be along shortly to tell you though.
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

Could they be small golden rod.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I don't know the name of the plant but its a weed - we get lots growing on our allotment and it spreads by pieces of root being left in - the roots are often deep and spreading
So dig it up!

if it was me, I would say it was a cudweed, though it doesn't look like most of the pics i've looked at

If in doubt dig it out.  ;)  Then burn the bu ba-lamb!!  ;D

If it's an annual it could go on the compost heap but, to be on the safe side as no one is sure what it is, I'd burn it to make sure it doesn't spread from the roots.

PS PLease don't let the seed blow south Poppy. I've enough weeds of my own thanks.  ;D
