although I have never had it on courgettes I have had it on other things and the only answer was to get rid of everything  infected and contacting.

The plant should grow on.

The reason for the mould is needed  to make more suggestions.

Exactly whre are the courgettes growing?

They like a rich soil but a good air flow, not cramped., Take any covers off.
Is that the problem? were they growing under cover?

tell us more please

fungus on plants is usually caused by too wet conditions, or not enough air flow over them.
Nothing is ever as it seems. With appropriate equations I can prove this.

If you mean a whitish coating on the leaves, not the actual courgettes themselves, I think a lot of us tend to get this later in the season but it doesn't seem to affect the courgettes themselves, I always seem to have more than enough.

Powdery mildew is a fungal infection that will spread so you should (very carefully) remove the infected leafs and dispose of them (do not compost) remove the leafs carefully so not to disturb the spores putting them into a polythene bag.
Bicarbonate of of Soda is nothing more than Baking Powder which you can buy in any food store.
This remedy does not kill the spores but does stop it from spreading

You mix 1 Tablespoon of baking powder
            1 Tablespoon of vegetable oil
1 Tablespoon of washing up liquid
to 1 gallon of water and spray the whole of the plant.
Try and space your plants out to create more ventilation and mulch them if you can, water regularly keeping the plants moist but not wet.

The other method is,
1 Part Semi Skinned milk to 9 parts water and spray.

The chemical solution is Myclobutinil
