broad bean blackfly
« on: June 19, 2011, 01:39:28 »
Before the black aphids land on my broad beans and lay their eggs, they presumably live on some other plant/shrub/tree for a while. Does anyone know what that might be, please?

Ants seem to farm them.  Not sure where they store them in the meantime.

I've got some Broad Beans nest my Spindle in my garden.... as yet the black aphids are only interested in the spindle.

How do I get rid of them?

They're probably a species which lives on spindle not BB's.
