Central Heating Pump
« on: May 19, 2011, 11:33:06 »
Just been cleaning `Airing Cupboard` where Central Heating Pump is Installed and noticed that this Pump was running,  even though Hot Water on programmer was selected only. I was always under the impression, this Pump associated with Room  Thermostat ,only Operated  when the Heating to Radiators was selected ? ? Is this right, because I have Small Bore copper Pipes in system. Any  Ideas please.

No, the pump should run for the hot water tank as well as for the radiators, so nothing to worry about.

Hold hard!
The pump, depending on your system, should operate when called by your room thermostat.
On water heating only the SH switch (on the boiler) should be off.
BUT OF COURSE I'M TALKING ABOUT FUEL OIL!

This is a Gas System.
