Topic: Greenhouse glazing options ?

Hi all,

How good/efficient is twinwall (best thickness ?) or clear acrylic for greenhouses ? I will be either buying second-hand aluminium and recycling the horticultural glass, or building from scratch in wood.

On a bit of a budget, and when I got a quote of £85 + vat per square metre of acrylic it didn't look good !

Twinwall is efficient but lacks weight which means your GH will need securely anchoring.... it also lacks structural strength menaing you might need more bracing I believe....

thanks for this - veering more towards the (probably wonky) self build, so more bracing support will be easy !

I tell people to try builders plastic membraine you can buy it cheap on the net wiyh all the glues, and tapes to do a great job and it will last you 20 or more years you will always have plenty left to do the odd repair
