Cardboard
« on: March 08, 2011, 07:11:22 »
Tony has just been reading ceefax and according to Jordans the healthfood business they are not going to use cardboard that has been made from recycled newspaper because it contains toxic mineral oils from the print. We don't use cardboard but I know that some of you do but we do use shredded newspaper in small amounts.

When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

thanks for posting Shirl, I use cardboard, not masses of it, but use it for composting, plus shredded paper . But to be honest I'll keep on using it, I'd rather compost it (such small amounts) that send it for recylcing  :-\
I guess we all find a way we are comfortable with. But it's still useful to have the info to be able to make a decision  :)

I hope this leads to restrictions on the use of the chemicals....... ??? ??? ???
I bring all the paper and mags from work home and stick them on my compost heap. Leave it several years then use it...... >:( >:( >:(
I have to say I find the amount of these mags unbelievable so much -IMHO junk- Celebrity mags, Hello, Lifestyle mags. Total ****.
And the money people spend on them.
Oh dear on my soap box... sorry :-[

I use cardboard from cereal, teabag boxes and other stuff.  Not in large quantities but add it at least monthly.
