Anybody eaten evening primrose roots?

I've just read "tubers have a spicy aroma and are considered very healthy."
So before I'm going to commit my self for trying and die..has anybody else tried and survived...were they any nice?..In my work we have evening primrose growing all over..so I might have ago this summer :-X :-\

ive eaten the root but i found it quite sweet, i boiled them and was told the whole plant is edible.
you may be a king or a little street sweeper but sooner or later you dance with de reaper.

Ohh..at least you survived...sweet is ok..I can live with that ;D Good..I can't wait for the summer now...
Now I wonder should they be harvested end of summer of can they be lifted 'when ever'?..and wether time of the harvest will have effect to the flavour ::)
I suppose one just have trial that...

Well, I have just consulted James as in 'grow your own drugs'. All parts are edible, nutty roots are boiled & eaten as veg, leaves as greens. The seeds were dried & chewed by native Americans.

Any help to you Miss?

We could always root him him out & ask on 18th ;D ;D ;D.

Grannyjanet..I can see us pair foraging through grouds to find James for you ;D
..yes..great help...I just have dig that book out of shelf and read it myself..never though to have a look at that. ::)..I bet your copy is well worn and you know contents very well... ;) Using me as excuse to find him... ::) ::) ;)
