Apart from onions and sweet peas I'm in the B all brigade.

Another 4-6 weeks yet before I really get going.

Sowed celeriac on 4 January - they are sooo slow and are still only 1/2" high. Also sowed some saved seed busy lizzies last Friday. Am now in the process of list-making for what else I want to grow this year.

for me it isn't about rushing more to do with pacing yourself cos so much can be sown in March but there's plenty to sow earlier to give yourself more time later - I've sown salads, sweet peas, basil, onions, salvias, celeriac, asparagus and will be sowing approx 300 peas in the greenhouse tomorrow and will then sow a few other things over the next couple of weeks

Bugger u 2, Kev.  ;D ;D  OH went to Woolworth, that is now 99p shop and spent at least £9.90 on me with all kinds of wonderful seeds. (Easily pleased from Enfield). I am so lucky.  Have sown sweet peas(own seed, have more) outside in a pot, and peppers, tomatoes on the window cill as for 99p and loads of seeds left over can't go wrong. Something else, must get some more labels, I know cauliflowers, 3 coming up also from 99p shop.  Should I do broad beans (don't like them) and they get black fly but have some seeds saved so may well do that now.

Hm, just some broad beans so far. Four different varieties, aquadulce outside and three more in loo rolls indoors to be planted out next month.

I've also started off some weeds/flowers for the tortoise to eat once he's out of hibernation next month.

I have resown my sweet peas because the original sowings I made in October succumbed to the very cold weather.  I sowed these in the first week of February.  I have also sown Ailsa Craig and Bedfordshire Champion onions and some tomatoes.
Later this month, I will be sowing leeks, lettuce and possibly cabbage.

I'm still at the stage of looking at seeds rather than planting them. I'm mainly worrying over the number of things I have to grow out for seed; if I can cope with them all, the rest will follow.

Warmer weather first me thinks.
Then when it picks up, I shall start to sow my seed.
If all goes well there should be another good crop of runners this year for the old folks down the home. They really did like them last year and I think that a few good sized cabbages wouldn't go amiss either.

Got them back now to put some tread on them

If we're still getting temperatures above ten degrees in a month's time, I'll start a bit of planting, but it'll either be under cover, or at the very least under cloches.

We have sown some chillies in the hope of giving them a long enough growing season this year but had we not had a thermometer on the windowsill I would have left them til March.
Otherwise it's some mizuna and other salady stuff.
Next week it'll be mange tout peas and broad beans.

I’ve sown;
leeks; Zermatt and Einstein F1.
Onions; Roscoff, Up To Date,  Buan, Stamme, Walla Walla, Bassano.
Calabrese; Ironman and Aquiles,
Cauliflower; Graffiti  and Avalanche,
Cabbage; Greyhound and Tundra.
My first lot of B beans are just starting through in root trainers in the spare bedroom, Vitelotte and Crimson Flowered.
I started a few different types of aubergines and chillies towards the end of January in a heated propagator and they are looking really good so far, also pepino and coriander.
Last week several varieties of cherry tomatoes for the greenhouse, I’ll be sowing some more toms next week, eventually for the polytunnel.
I’ve also got some January sown sweet peas on the windowsill, waiting to go out
A few other bits and bobs either on the windowsill or Heated prop.

Didn't think I'd sown much but it seems much more when written down! I hope to start some peas and celariac next week  :)

Think I am a bit late starting this year.  Only done a few onions (failed again), leeks and a couple of toms.  Should get my finger out.
