Help and Advice required - Making Polytunnel
« on: January 16, 2011, 15:05:18 »
I've managed to scrape together materials to build a polytunnel using scaffolding tube and plastic water pipe.

The scaffolding tube needs to be cut - its aluminium (I think). Can someone advise how best to do that please? Thanks for reading.

Angle grinder with a cutting disk will do it, A hacksaw will also do it just take a bit longer..

if using a cut off disc keep it moving as it will clog quickly with the soft aluminium.
you may be a king or a little street sweeper but sooner or later you dance with de reaper.

Sabre saw with a metal blade would be my advice... grinders and ally is always a fraught combination...

You may not need it but here is a nice link for instructions on building your own polytunnel from the materials you have.
