dead Chick

Hi,
Lost the 3rd chick we hatched last year dont now why probley the cold weather got to them,just got 1 cockeral left out of 4 chicks she was a lovely white one and the other 2 was white with speckles on them ,cockeral left is a dark brown colour

Sorry about that. It was -13 here last night & doesn't feel as if it's moved much either.

Are you using chick feed with an anticoccodiasis element. The forums tend to say that this makes all the difference to chick survival. Very cold spell for chicks though have you got a heat lamp?

Yes we did use that,but they were about 5/ 6 months old  now and they were raised under mother hen and she was good with them
think they might have not been getting anouth food as they were with the other hens
the young cockerel is feeling light so hubby has put him in separate run,its the first time this has happened,and the most we have ever been able to hatch

my young cockeral is not very well at all, he just lays in run dont think he is eating even though he has moved as i put him in his shed last night and he was laying at the end of his run today
and this afternoon he had moved a bit more
