We get free woodchip, free compost (sometimes), free horse manure (wet straw) and of course a lot of free rain.  We are so lucky.  Think that is 40, 15 to me Kev.  Free compost seems to bring out the worst in people, wheelbarrow races to see who gets the most, no fights yet.

We had a bit of a scum for manure last year but people were not so pleased when they found that their potatoes were not happy.

We do not have access in January so roll on Feb.

I would ask for a months rebate if I wasn't allowed on the plot for a month and compo for anything I couldn't harvest but that's just me.  ;)     ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

I went on Friday for the first time since mid-December.  It was raining and I got very muddy digging up parsnips, leeks and sprouts and carrying the bags to the car.  I didn't see anyone else there-can't say I was surprised!  The plot looks very tidy, and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to seed sowing whaen the time is right.

I sometimes buy muck from the farm, however it is much more fun to garden for nothing if possible.  We have muck, leaves and grass mowings delivered to the allotment.  I am a bit suspicious of the lawn mowings because you cannot be sure if they have had weed killer on them but the leaves and the horse muck is good.
