quote from Betty-It will be so nice to meet more A4Aers, and to see you Susiebelle again.  I hope we all get a chance to talk to each other.

Will there be room for anyone who is not an A4Aer? :-\

I spoke to Karen Kenny (east anglian regional rep fro nsalg) yesterday when I invited her to our AGM, which she confirmed was OK, so she's going to give a talk to the AGM.

I  also invited her to the Norfolk NSALG AGM on Feb 5th, but guess what, she's of to Birmingham to an allotment training day!!

good luck to all that attend, it's a really useful / helpful presentation about all things regarding setting up & running allotments.

Oh, and say 'hello karen' from me ;)
You couldn't make it up!

The Training Day went really well, with over 60 people attending.  It was standing room only in the kitchen and I am shattered now!

Shirl was a great help, I wouldn't have managed without her.  She brought some of her lovely glass paintings and sold quite a few in aid of the Cat Fund.

It was lovely to meet Pumpkinlover, and eat her delicious pumpkin biscuits!
Here she is keeping Grandad Scarecrow company

Also really nice meeting up with Saddad and Susiebelle again.

Were you there Tividale Jo?  Sorry if I missed speaking to you.

Tonybloke, I couldn't remember what your surname was when I was speaking to Karen!  She gave such a good talk, very informative.   I think she must have covered every aspect of running an allotment, I just wish I'd thought of putting chairs in the kitchen!

it was a great day, I would suggest that anyone involved in allotment management who gets the opportunity to attend future sessions does so.
NSALG are running further days due to demand, but it is a full day, so much information. I hope that Karen, Betty and Shirley are putting thier feet up now as they deserve it.
Shirl's glass paintings are great, she looks like being busy getting stocks up again.

It sounds like a very successful day Catwoman  ;), well done to all involved  :)

Think I'll take a look at these training days, and see if we could benefit from them (self managed site!)

It was a very long day so if you are thinking of going to one then take a cushion with you.We all know the allotment laws or have a rough idea of what we can and cannot do but having it dinned into you for a day really imprints it on yer mind. Well worth it.

Sorry for the delayed response but when I arrived home on Saturday my broadband was down - BT have just managed to get it back up again something to do with copper in the cables , as if that means anything to me!

Any way just wanted to say a big thank you to Betty for hosting this training day, I found 6 hours a bit too much to be sitting and perhaps next time Karen will put in a couple of 'comfort' breaks, but I really don't know how Betty and Shirl coped!
Lovely to meet you Shirl and your lovely man Tone(sp?) who was very generous with his time with Philip, still not sure whether Philip thinks he can make the cloche, problem being he is not very Practical however he is getting better.

Nice to put a face to both Saddad (Dave), sorry if I caught you at a bad moment Dave but at least I know what you look like and really wish you well with the 'Mentoring' role, I have always found your posts both supportive and informative so I think you will be well suited to the role, and Pumpkinlover(Anne?) who I just managed to say hello to before leaving.

I just love Betty's site so hope to get there again during the summer.
