If you can't face that what about a foot spa with the oils in it.

Do you know, that ain't a bad idea, the Yeti has hankered after one for a while know. I looked them up and found one on offer so I ordered it. Massages, bubbles, infra red heating, got to be worth a try. Thankyou.

I think a pedicure and nail polish to finish the effect! ;D

I usually wake a couple of times during the night so I tend to listen to an audio book with one earphone ,on my Ipod, set the timer and have usually dropped off again before timer ends

WHAT! and add nightmares to sleepless nights, no thanks. Anyway these days given the choice I would prefer a good gravy dinner ;)

Maybe that's the problem Ace, gravy dinners too late into the evening  :P and you could tell the Yeti the foot spa is her Christmas present that arrived late in  the post, chalk up a few brownie points.  ;)       ;D ;D ;D

Seriously -for a moment- some brands of gravy contain Monosodium Glutamate- that keeps us awake and and we have to have organic gravy.   :-\

20ml of Night Nurse does me nicely thank you.  OH has Sominex or Nytol to get a good nights sleep, now and then.

What worked for me: One of my sisters died suddenly last year and I kept waking up in the night. I'd heard that if you take the trouble to think through the things you're grateful for, it puts you in a more peaceful frame of mind. So I tried it, mentally listing the things I was feeling thankful for that day, and within a couple of weeks, I was sleeping soundly again.

The idea comes from the Positive Psychology school of thought and costs nothing, involves no drugs and, for me, has been a lesson for life. As a former fibromyalgia sufferer, I think it's something that might help people currently suffering.

One thing I often feel grateful for is the laughs that come to me from A4A-ers, not least you, Ace.  ;D

Sweet dreams!

Ace,

As a long serving shift worker, I find that the things most people are doing when they wake in the night is; pain prevents a good nights sleep and also the fact that people allow things to play on their mind. If you write down things to do or worries you may have then try to sleep again, I found this to be a help.
You can never replace lost sleep but it does help with getting the rest you need to rejuvinate the body. The tip came via the sleep clinic at Papworth Hospital.
Not all cases have worked but it is a case of trial and error.
Hopefully not the later. ;)

Got them back now to put some tread on them

Oh ACE..I know something what would be answer for you problems..
Actually I'm suprised that you haven't mentioned it yourself...
You always moan about Micras and how slow they are...
How about little morning stroll around town in Micra..heating on..radio on..steady 25mph..you would be sleeping like a baby..
If I would only live a bit closer to you I could give you a lift to work ;)
Nippie therapy it's called... ;D

Thanks for the heads up, Ace.  I've just ordered one as a treat for my sister as she works in a care home and is on her feet for 13 hours a day.  Hope she likes it ;D
