Could be by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, he was one of the Pre-Raphaelites Ace's description ring's a bell.

Very similar style, but no you don't win a coconut. ;D

But blimey he liked the redheads didn't he. I always thought having red hair was alright for parties but not really suitable for everyday use. I won't have them in the house as they would clash with the decor ;)

The last time I saw hamlet, ophelia did her mad scene in the buff. That stopped all the sweet wrapper rustling from the school parties, and no mistake.  i didn't know where to look.......fiirst  ;D

Gawd this is frustrating.

I am sure I know which picture you mean but I can not find the one I am looking for.

I am now much better educated on the pre raphaelite  works than this time yesterday but
can not find it.

Maybe imagined it. ???

I have a few suggestions....

I went down the underwater fashion shoot route, with a few drowned brides thrown in!

If all else fails, I'm sure I could persuade my long red haired 17 year old daughter to pose for you......NOT! ;D ;)

If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

well if nothing else you are making an old man very happy ;)

But the one I am after is still very elusive.

If any of you have a targeted advertising bug in their pc, your other half will be in for a bit of a shock when they log on ;D

Denise, I also went through the Birmingham art gallery. I will have to make a point of visiting it when I come up that way. what a fantastic collection.

His name is Augustus Leopold Egg.We have gone back through all of the records and he was descended from Henry Durs Egg who was gunmaker to the king and the family originally came from Switzerland.

I thought that the Ophelia by Millais was the red headed wife of Rossetti - Lizzie Siddal.

Yes it was, they all painted her, hence lots of red heads in the paintings.
Someone did a 'copy' fairly recently as a photograph...lots of different paintings recreated including 'ophelia' using famous actresses/models posing...can't remember who though and that might be what you saw.

The more I think about it, I reckon it was photograph  copy of ophelia. So I shall try searching with photos etc. Thanks.

I wonder if there is a knot hole in that tree ;)
