Lottery Funding

Has anyone managed to get lottery funding for purchasing a communal shed and other on site resources. If so, do you need to match the funding?

Hi, Kea, we have had five lots of lottery funding for a communal shed, sheds on the plot, communal polytunnel and fencing around the whole area, last one was for a storage shed and communal large greenhouse, we've never had to match the funding  :)
you do have to leave a couple of years between grants so put everything on it when you apply  :)

We've just had Lottery funding to install a composting toilet. It's quite a bit of work researching and filling in the form, but worth it. And the grant was for the whole amount.

Two things: the group has to be able to prove that it's sound and properly run; and they're giving the money not because they feel sorry for you, or like the look of you, but because you've convinced them that it will make a real difference to the local community.

In our case, we'd already turned the site round from being half-derilect; had put up fencing; had started re-vamping the drainage; had put in a car park and secure gates; had established links with the Residents' Association, the Chamber of Commerce, the local primary schools; had school visits; a group from MIND working a plot; blind and disabled members on site.

That's interesting we've been discussing a composting toilet but people are worried no one will help look after it. I'm also worried about our high water table.
