Robins on the pond
« on: September 10, 2010, 21:00:58 »
Even if I could have taken a picture it was by then too dusky, but tonight I watched as two robins came sat on the lilypads in the pond and frisked about. It was wonderful to watch.
I couldn't see what they were after, but they were having a great time!

I haven't seen them about the bird feeder area for a while, guess as it has rained they have more fertile ground - hope so.

Meanwhile back at the bird feeders the tits are munching the niger seed! I think the goldfinches are not best pleased!

Silly story I know, but just wanted to share it,

Not silly at all, I loved your description.  ;D  My guess is your robins we after midges or some such.  :)

The other day I had Mr and Mrs wood pigeon on my bird table with their offspring who is nearly as big as them.  They were being so protective of him/her it was comical to watch.
