I bet you already know this but ...
I often try to find just the right herb and fruit combination in recipes.
Recently I`ve been making huge crumble-style pies of mixed berries grown on my allotment and I`ve found that a pinch of (home-grown) fennel seeds in the crumble mix that also has a little nutmeg really goes well with the fruity tang of blackcurrants, redcurrants, gooseberries and raspberries.
I also add coarse ground oats, and a few oat flakes to the crumble mix.
