yellow melon
« on: September 10, 2013, 08:46:25 »
Well, it's started turning. It's the biggest we've ever grown apart from one a few years ago that was invaded by a red ant colony so this one is in a net. Or the one 7 years ago that got nicked. So, how yellow does it have to be. So excited, may get to taste one this year  :toothy10:

Yayyyyy Manics :icon_cheers:
I'm not going to be much help, none of the melons I've grown the last couple of years have been of the yellow kind. I tend to go on smell, when it starts wafting they are ready!

Thanks, Jaybe.
I had a message from an expert, we are currently enjoying eating it. Lovely flavour. Just picked a smaller one and we have a medium sized one left on the vine.
Next year, I will plant 2 plants and fertilise 3 on each  :sunny: :toothy10:
