we take some off when they have started turning, just not quite ripe, if we leave them on the windowsill, they are ripe after a couple of days :)

yes a banana skin gives of enzyme fumes that make tomatoes ripen.

thanks come to think of it im sure my nan used to wrap hers up in newspaper and put them in the airing cupboard, has anyone xheard of that?
