We all have our own ideas and if it works for you carry on with it but the strangest one I have come across is to spray twice a day with sugar water. During the war you could get a sugar allowance to help with your bees but if you think about it, when you spray the foliage with sugar the bees will go to the leaves before the flowers. I just like to keep the plants moist at the roots. I have a porous hose fitted to my water butt. I have a reasonable set so far.

Tomorrow shall be picking lots of climbing french beans and peas.  Shall also be pulling quite a few carrots.

Wonderful time of year.
