Yesterday there was a lot of excitement round my hives; I thought they were probably robbing out an empty hive as I saw bees inside with their heads in cells with a little honey. Today it was much calmer, with a large swarm in residence. There was more honey than yesterday, and it shook out of the cells as I shook the bees down into the bottom box, so they either brought it with them or collected it today. That's the second free colony I've gained this year!
