I'm growing Cherry Bomb, Naga Jolokia and Ring of Fire this year.  The problem is that Ring of Fire is my staple cooking chilli and has been really disappointing.  I've had 100% germination with the other two sorts but less than 50% with RoF and then they're weedy and slow to grow.  Treated them all the same so don't know what's gone wrong. :-\

I use a little electric propagtor - I still have some complete failures (could be old seed?) but I have a much better germ rate than I used to get.

Oh the secret is..fresh seeds...propagator...heat...and lots of patience...
Normally I don't have problems with germination but this year was a bit of hit and miss..I put it down to weather being so cold and my propagator wasn't quite warm enough..and it was on draughty windowsill as well..but I did get there eventually... ::)
What I found odd was that my naga morich seed, normally slow to germinate, were first to pop up and I had 100% germination as well... ::)..so I have more of those that I really need..I mean how many of those can you really use.. ::) I only get through few fruits..but I didn't have heart to throw them away neither and  nobody wanted any of them to try..I wonder why.. ;D

I get mine going quite early in Feb or March esp ones like the Nagas which have a long season but April will do for most.
I have a nice hot sunny windowsill with a good aspect and it's double glazed so I have somewhere to grow them on.
