Dandelions or not
« on: May 23, 2010, 18:41:08 »
Manuel said I was growing dandelions out of the Council compost.  I did scatter a box of wild flower seeds from Morrisons and think that they are wild flowers, maybe poppies.  Have a bet with him and another man on the allotment who also thinks they are dandelions.  Anyone got any ideas.  Think the leaves are slightly different but are easy to dig up so if I am wrong, no great problem.

I agree with goodlife, although I know it as a milk thistle! :)

So should I dig it up, or let it grow for wild life.  Don't know what happened to the wild seeds.  :( :(  It is very easy to pull up, better than the mares/horse tail that grows between it.

I would just turn the batch over ..or pull it...or feed it for chickens..but if you let it flower..well it does seed very well for you to weed it out again.. ::)
