Raising money
« on: May 16, 2010, 19:24:02 »
We held our first ever plant sale today and despite rain showers and a chilly wind, managed to raise £271 - a combined total from the plant sale and raffle.

A big thanks to Lawrence aka Isleworth who did a brilliant job of organising raffle prizes; writing to companies and getting prizes donated, for printing loads of posters and selling most of the raffle tickets to family, friends and work colleagues ;D

Planning for next year already!  What to do differently?  grow runner beans and courgettes, more beefsteak tomatoes and unusual tom varieties not available in the garden centres.

Nice one.  What do you do with the money?

It'll be the first time that the association has had more than £100 in the account, so we might just gloat over our pile ;D ;D

Seriously, we will use it for site improvements.  We have just been successful in getting some grant money from BAA (yet to hit the account), so we will add it to that and use the total sum to get the Community Gardening project up and running and to create a wildlife garden.
