I've noticed huge differences between BBC & Metcheck forecasts - such as last night had a min. of 6 on BBC & 2 on Metcheck - the difference between a groundfrost or not! It got down to 7 near the house, so BBC won... Anyone else noticed such big differences? Has anyone found something with the detail of Metcheck but a bit more accurate?!

I tend to use http://www.accuweather.com/ukie/ and google weather.

Accuweather isnt too bad imho but I have google weather on my homepage so I can see a quick view of the next couple of days..
Google also gives you a link to weatherunderground and I can click on my local weather monitoring station to see whats going on..
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!

I stick with the local BBC for temperatures, and the Shipping Forcast for wind speeds/direction.
You couldn't make it up!

Metcheck used to be unreliable, then for a period became very good. Recently there have been wild inaccuracies, including threatening me with 3035mph winds and a wind chill of -87°C only a month ago. They also currently report that at the end of next week we'll see highs of only 5°C on several days. There seems to be something very wrong with their modelling at the moment.

The flaw of the BBC is they do not update their graphical forecast often enough, if you look at the local video forecasts throughout the day you'll find they diverge from the graphics at quite a rate. Their national video forecast and local often wildly diverge too.

So in my area last night, the graphics said a low of 7°C and the local forecast a low of 3°C, in reality it got to 4°C.

I use a combination. I also look at the Metoffice too, which often differs from the BBC, even though they supply the BBC with its data.

For tonight the BBC says it will be 7°C, Metoffice concur and Metcheck says 5°C with an 18% chance of an air and ground frost, at 5°C, hmm..?

I find the met office to be a good indication of what is going on or about to happen - its never an exact science - and you can of course choose your locality.
My nearest station is in Harrogate so I use:

This coming week looks good!

I use netweather.tv.  Lots of detail, but I can't exactly say how accurate it is, though I recon it's better than the BBC.

I use the met office, I have the BBC set to our area and it's not at all accurate.

I like this one http://uk.weather.com/

Pretty accurate hour-by-hour forecasts for the night ahead, and a ten day forecast too

I use this one as well. It seems fairly accurate as forecasts go...

Yes Ollie I have. Plus Metcheck's website seems pretty flaky to me, often not available.
So will give some of these others a go

Still use the http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ site for the weather and to see what cloud cover is up there.

Got them back now to put some tread on them
