Spinach sowing?
« on: May 09, 2010, 12:50:50 »
Hi all, just a quick question but how should I sow spinach seeds?

I have 1/3rd of a bed prepared for this, should I put my seeds in rows or should I spread the seeds ad hoc all over the area?

I'm going to plant Perpetual Spinach and Kale in the same bed, is that a wise move?

TYIA.

I always start my spinach off in pots and then plant out when they are 3/4 inch tall- that way you can get a good spread of plants (not to mention slugs and birds love spinach seedlings).
You can plant Kale in the same bed but watch the spacing as they can both grow into large plants.
