Topic: yellow pea plant

when the peas that i sowed grew one plant is completely yellow and still is it is growing the same as the others is only different in colour any ideas? is it worth planting it out?

I hope this is right, but from my limited understanding, it should grow into a usable plant. The mutated vegetation will not be passed on though its seed (unless of course this is in its breeding and comes from a yellow leafed pea plant)

In the same way the purple seeded mange touts I am growing are mutations from growth not inherited genes.

If it's completely yellow it's unable to make chlorophyll, which green plants need to trap energy from sunlight to make glucose. Without it, it can't manufacture it's own energy, and once the supply in the seed runs out it will die.

I think it's a genetic flaw that leaves them without working copies of the genes needed to make chlorophyll.
