I know exactly where I was 40 years ago today. A certain Nursing Home watching a 5lbs 10 oz baby being carried along a corridor past me as I went to see his mother. I swear to this day that he turned his head to watch the lights. This was in the days when Fathers were not allowed to watch their children being born.
That was the last time he ever lay down too!
Happy birthday JP.

Thanks everyone. My wife takes birthdays a lot more seriously than I do and as this one was a large round number,  it's taken much obstinacy on my part to avoid having to endure a party with 100s of our closest friends ::)

We had a weekend away on the North Norfolk coast with three other families, plus I went to London to have some tuition on the unusual musical instrument which was my surprise present. To cut a long story short, by the time of my actual birthday, the cake was nearly all gone!

Yes, our cycling club arranged a birthday meet for my colleague (19th March) and myself. He is 80 and I am 81, they did a similar thing for my 80th.
