Hope it tastes as good as it looks.

I recall a marble cake being popular too, once upon a long time ago.

If I remember rightly the batter was divided up and coffee or chocolate was added to some and cochineal to some more and even a dash of green, kids loved mixing it about.

There was another one where you mixed the egg yolks in and added chocolate then the other bit made with white vegetable fat and egg whites.  Can't remember exactly what that was something like angel and devil.

Not so much home baking done these days but who can blame people when most freezer places have a reasonable cake enough for a dessert for a quid or so.

The pleasures of retirement include the time to spend on creative activities.
