Jiffy 7's
« on: March 02, 2010, 18:56:40 »
I got a bag of Jiffy 7's ( I think they are peat-free) in the great hamper I won from Dorset Cereals, but I've lost the instructions. Do I ned to soak them in a certain amount of water? Also any ideas for which veg seeds to sow in these?

they're great for salady type stuff, sprinkles of spring onions, brassicas, stuff like that, i always soak them in warm water, then drain once they're fully expanded, let them cool, sow the seed and so on, have fun, I've even grown toms and peppers in them  ;D

I buy them by the 1000 and sow practcally everything in them, limited only by the size of the seed, have done for years, even some of my smaller bean seeds go in nicely. Oh and buy the way if a seed does not germinate I just use that one again.
