Just to let you know that "DIG IN" starts again on the Ist March with a new website and 5 new free vegetable seed packets for you to try:- french bean, courgette, Chantenay carrot, mixed leaf salad and basil.

yes, thanks, my two girls (aged 3&5) loved sowing these seeds last year! Great fun for children.  :)

Please don't be offended by my nickname 'Mortality'
As to its history it was the name of a character I played in an online game called 'Everquest'
The character 'Mortality Rate' was a female Dark Elf Necromancer, the name seemed apt at the time and has been used alot by me over the years.

Their site isn't up yet :(.... even had a slightlyh hacky cruise aroiund unlinked bits of the BBC site and couldn't find it anywhere obvious :( :(

I had an email not long ago and I think it said the seeds would be available from April 1st.  But I don't know if you can a apply for them before that.
