Compost Failure
« on: December 17, 2009, 14:15:17 »
I am a big failure on the compost front.  Lid blew off.  It is now so wet that it has oozed on mass out of hatch on the dalek, and like some black slimey monster is now on a take over bit of the garden.

Why dont your spread it onto bare beds or just bury it. It will soon rot down in the earth and you have plenty of time before you likely to plant anything.

Put everything back inside, put the lid back, weigh it down with a brick, and leave it to sort itself out.

You cant fail with compost.

Eventually the water will all drain off. Just keep filling and put a brick on top of the lid.

I must say I would really like some hens.  Not allowed on allotment.

The three I am looking after live across the road from us. Mummy & Daddy & baby Rufus are off to France for a month.
