Old photo
« on: November 03, 2009, 06:57:30 »
I found this old photo of my Mum, it was taken about 1941/1942 when we were evacuated to Devon. As you can see it was in a very bad state but my lovely Niece has worked on it and I am delighted with the result.

That's amazing, it was almost impossible to see anything in the first photo.

Your neice has done a really good job on it, you must be thrilled!

Manic I love the old family photos. Charlie always made my photograph frames. I asked him to make a large one 50cm x 50cm which contains Mum & Dad's wedding (Xmas Eve 1916) our wedding (1952) also my son's and daughters wedding photos. I also put a photo. the only one as far as I know, of Mum, Dad and all 9 of us which was taken 1945 when my brother was demobbed from the army. The same Niece (by marriage) who did that old photo has worked so hard on Ancestry and has something like 900plus photographs on it. Such patience.

Ray makes frames for me,he's doing one for his mum and dad for Christmas, we've bought a painting for them  :)

BN, Nephew & Niece are enjoying their 2nd break of 5 weeks (this year) visiting their sons and grandchildren in Australia. Bless her she finished as much work on the photo as she could last week (also enjoying temperatures of 33c)

Lorna, Your niece has done an amazing job.  It is fantastic to have totally restored something that would have really been lost. Wonderful to have that family history so clear now. busy_lizzie  :)
