Romanesco / Romanescu - what variety would you recommend?
« on: October 23, 2009, 10:51:12 »
I grew a T&M one this year and while the heads were small, the flavour was good.  A couple haven't yet developed heads, not sure what went wrong there but they may have got a bit too much shade.

Next year I want to grow them again - and more of them.

Is there a particular variety to recommend?

Advice would be appreciated .... thanks!

I grew Franchi Seeds Romanesco lots of seeds :P per packet but the heads were rather small.  However, I am a totaly failure at cauliflower normally so I was quite pleased.  Still got some growing, they have become huge with no sign of a head.  So there is a chance for them to shine yet.

The ones I grew in pots and then planted out have done the best, they do not seem to be keen on being moved.
