Ain't got a clue
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Well you have but maybe it is a bit too cryptic! :P Sorry! Any guesses?

The parcel is now sitting in Currie PO. It was too big for the post box so won't leave until tomorrow (I'd forgotten that Wednesday is the local early closing day. You don't notice these things when you're at work.)

It will be winging it's way down south from the Pentlands to the Pennines but will it veer right to red rose country or left to the white rose of York? It's heading for:
this fellow
with a bladder problem
can’t do the distance on the Norwegian national dish
so lands on his bum we hear.
!!! ;D ;D :o

I will reveal all later today if noone works it out first. ;)

My first thoughts were  manicscousers,
and you were spot on !
but then, I can't do cryptic ???

Well you must be an excellent guesser!

this fellow  = man
with a bladder problem= interstitial cystitis (commonly known as IC)
can’t do the distance on the Norwegian national dish -
the Norwegian national dish is lapskous, take away the distance, "lap" and you get skous
so lands on his bum we hear =erse (arse in Morningside) = rs

It should be in Lancashire by Friday morning!

And I do apologise.  :-[  I've not made up cryptic clues before.  ::) ::)

Wow, I've done a crypticky thing :o wooohoo!  ;D ;D 8)

Unfortunately the only bit I got right was man  ;D, rest was way over for me, but decided scouser was close-ish sounding to the herring dish, and being a fish which Norway has lots of ::)

I have the list here and really thought she'd deviated from the order - but couldn't figure out WHO it could be.  That is as cryptic as they come.  Well done, Grawrc  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just a quick question -

Is the 'parcel' a padded envelope that would fit through a standard size letterbox?
I lock my porch when I go out so anything that won't fit through the letterbox has to be collected or re-delivered.

Yes it's a padded envelope, but the woman in my local PO measured it and pronounced it too big for the letterbox - too fat I think!! I suppose it might squeeze through but she was basing it on PO regulations no doubt.

Anyway whoever is ending it to you can always give you warning that it is coming.

It won't have left Edinburgh till this morning Mal - Wednesday's early closing at the local PO. i could of course, had I thought, taken it to Asda where the PO is open all day but it's trying to support your local PO so they don't close it down and by the time I realised it was Wednesday she had already stamped it and done the certificate of posting. Anyway it's first class so fingers crossed it'll be with you tomorrow.
