plans-yes-just got back from Hidcote in gloucs-fabulous, first time i've been there. such a lot to see. absolutely absolutely x100 threw it down, was soaked right through to ...ahem... so had a drink and luckily it eased off.
will tell all of presents and more later, as i'm off for tea at parents.
cheers to everyone :) :)

hi again, it's me, 1 year older!
presents: membership of HDRA (hurrah!) and the heritage seed library (double hurrah and oh-oh, more seeds!). gardening books, the new Chris Ryan and another.
I still don't have all my presents-have one from the in-laws to come-i do like to spread my birthday over several days!

Hidcote-fabulous even in the rain, particularly the 'red' borders, and their dahlias-wowee! all the miles of hedging must take them sooo long to maintain, they were out clipping and shearing in the rain.
managed to pinch some seeds (smacked wrist) from an orange welsh poppy and an abutilon, but they were very up to date with their deadheading!
next on my list is great dixter, i should very much like to see there-has anyone here been??

Happy Belated Kerry!
Great Dixter is on my "to do" list, along with Sarah Ravens cutting garden. They are both fairly close to me, and it is appauling that I haven't been yet! Neighbour has been to Great Dixter a few times, her Uncle knows Christopher Lloyd, and she says it is well worth the trip, but the opening hours are short. Did Sissinghurst and have to say was dissapointed, maybe I had seen too much hype about it! DP
