Sweet potato squash

My lottie mate gave me a plant ,one of several she had raised she got the seed from the real seed company.I've looked on their website but it doesn't say when they are ripe.The plants done really well with lot's of squash so if anyone could advise I'd be very grateful :)

Your squash is actually a type of Delicata Winter squash. All Winter squash are best picked at the end of their growing season, probably the end of September and before the frosts come. This gives them time to fully mature for Winter storage and develop their optimum taste.

Too late i couldn't wait and had my first taste of this squash roasted at dinner........definitely one I'll grow again next year :)
