« on: October 14, 2004, 12:15:59 »
OK, can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?  Thought I would change my avatar, got a jpg pic, reduced to under 100x100, got it in photobucket, but that darn red cross in the square keeps coming up when I try to post it! >:( Then thought oh go back to the old one, and the same has happened......can some one out there remind me how to easily post an avatar PLEASE! Thanks  :-*  DP

Leave that to the experts. When I joined the club, I didn't even know what an avatar was!!
And, most likely, the one that I achieved may not say what is meant?? = Tim

I'm no expert DP but changed mine the other day no bother.  did you remember to enter and confirm your password on the profile page? Had trouble once then found I was actually copying ALL of the Properties for apsting now use Select All command. Only other thing might be that I have seen lots of talk about trouble with photobucket but I don't use that so can't veify ... Sorry no help really am I? :-\

DP, tried uploading something from the internet to here a few moms ago and got the same result as you, then noticied it was on photobucket so think that is the problem

I use the set-up created by Aqui on MSN for A4A members' photo albums - a few have photos there, EJ, Richard F etc.  works well and easy.  I could be wrong about photobucket tho, maybe someone more techie will know  :-\

Never tried to use one so thought I would have a go.

Selected one of my own pictures and resized it, 100 by 74 pixels. Loaded it to my web space on geocities and copied the address of the picture into my profiles in the right box, typed in my password and now we shall see if it works!!!!

For an animated one I think most of us "pick one up" on-line by searching for animated gifs or jpgs.  For example this site will give you an idea

http://www.heathersanimations.com/animation1.htm

or google the name of something e.g. cat jpgs or cat gifs
Same procedure applies re properties, web page etc.
